Is my search for the perfect natural deodorant over?

Anyone who has transitioned to a natural deodorant knows how difficult it can be to find the one.  I've tried tons of brands over the years and I haven't really been able to stick to a brand or formula for too long... some caused rashes thanks to the abundance of baking soda, others stopped working after a few months, or were super messy to apply. Aluminum-based deodorants may have links to breast cancer and Alzheimers, and while the articles I've read have not been conclusive enough I have become increasingly aware of the ingredients in my beauty and personal health products, and have been slowly switching to non-toxic alternatives.

I was excited when Lavanila reached out about testing a few of their products, they are a major name in cruelty-free personal care products and somehow I never got around to trying them, until now!

Lavanila products are packed with organic, nutritious ingredients that are non-toxic and claim to be non-irritating even for sensitive skin types. Their products are free of parabens, mineral oil, sulfates, aluminum, and synthetic fragrances.

The Healthy Detox Mask

At the start of my swap to Lavanila products I used The Healthy Underarm Detox Mask, the mask contains charcoal and malic acid (from green apples) these ingredients help exfoliate, purify, and pull metal ions to the surface. I've never used an underarm mask before, but I found this product easy to apply. According to the product page even if you already use a natural deodorant you can use this mask weekly to help rid the area of pollutants. After using the mask my skin felt clean and nourished.

Pure Vanilla Deodorant

This is the first Lavanila deodorant I've tried and I was not disappointed. I see why people rave about Lavanila! The scent is lovely, not too sweet, just clean, warm, natural Madagascar vanilla. It's also formulated without baking soda, which in the past has been an irritant for my skin. Because of this, the formula glides on. I began Couch to 5k the same week I started testing these products, and I've stayed fresh through all of my workouts thus far.

Vanilla Grapefruit Fragrance

This is arguably my favorite product of the bunch. I have been searching for a cruelty-free fragrance pretty much since my cf journey began. They aren't easy to find, and the ones that I have tried weren't anything to write home about. The Lavanila team hit it out of the park with this one. The scent is classic, it's the perfect blend of fresh citrus, warm cedarwood, and vanilla. I can see this being a staple in my collection for years to come.

From my past experience with natural deodorants, I've found that the performance can change over time. Having used these products for the last two and a half weeks I can confidently say these are working well for me. The scents are amazing, and I like having peace of mind that I am not applying any harmful chemicals to my skin. I have one more Lavanila deodorant scent in my 'need to test' pile that I plan to post about in a few weeks time. If you would like to see a review of the Probiotic Vanilla Eucalyptus deodorant, and or would like me to check back in a few weeks time for an update on the deodorant, leave me a comment below!
