June Favorites// Update and Mini Haul

I really want to get back into beauty blogging, a lot of my posts recently have been based on other topics, and while I'm so happy and blessed that I was able to travel this year cruelty free beauty is something I am passionate about and love to write about. I am hoping to bring more of that back to this site.

I have been chatting with a few companies, and hopefully I will have some fun new posts coming up.

In practically every post this month I have been saying how busy my schedule is, however I am now in the final days of my internship. I have had a lot of fun editing, and creating social media content for my boss but in truth it has been rough trying to balance everything. I am happy to be getting back into coaching golf this month, and putting more hours into my job as well as this blog.

If you read my last post you would have seen that I have been testing out some new (to me) products from SunBum. As promised I would like to let you know my thoughts on those.

I have only been to the beach twice this month, and since I am awful at applying sunscreen I have also been sunburned twice. Having some sort of aloe treatment on hand in the summer is vital. Last month I picked up Sun Bum's "Cool Down" spray. This product contains aloe and cucumber extract to help soothe irritation. I am actually really happy with this product. I use it after showering to restore moisture to otherwise dry and sun damaged skin. I found the product to be hydrating and soothing. I also love the light cucumber scent.

Sun Bum has also done wonders for my hair. I picked up the Sun Bum Beach Formula 3 In 1 Leave In (that's a mouthful), which is a blend of coconut and other oils designed to prevent split ends and protect your hair from UV damage. I usually shower at night, so after towel drying my hair, I spritz a bit of this into my hair and disperse it with my fingers. I then blow dry my hair as I normally would. I would recommend completely drying your hair, oftentimes I let it air dry once I have gotten a majority of the moisture out. But with a blend of oils I found its better to completely dry your hair so the oils soak in and don't make your hair appear oily. I really like this product, it smells wonderful and leaves my hair soft. I recently cut about 4 inches off, and I think this will make a difference in keeping my hair manageable and free from split ends.

No stranger to my blog is the Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge. This is now my second time purchasing the sponge. The company recommends you buy a new one every 3 months, however I clean mine every time or every other time i wear makeup, and I have been wearing makeup less often... so after 4 months my sponge tore a bit and was ready to be replaced.

This weekend I visited my local Lush location. It was fun to go back and visit everyone, the staff is so sweet! I haven't been there since the holidays when I was a sales ambassador. I didn't purchase anything for myself, I brought my boyfriend to introduce him to their shaving products and to pick him up a pot of Ocean Salt which is one of my favorite products. I did ask a friend to pack me a little sample of their new Hair Custard though and I am so impressed! This product smells like pure vanilla , which aside from coconut is one of my favorite scents. After cutting my hair I have noticed the ends stick out a bit more so I had been straightening my hair upon waking up. I tried the hair custard for the first time last night, you simply run it through your hair before blowdrying and then brush and style it through. I woke up this morning and my hair looked perfect! It wasn't stick straight (I don't dry my hair straight down) but it had body, smelled of vanilla, and the ends were nicely curled under. I love this stuff and will definitely pick up a full size!

One of the things I plan on doing this summer, is a bit of furniture restoration. I have an old dresser that was my grandfathers. The stain has seen better days, but it is a great quality piece that I cannot bear to part with. I plan on refinishing the piece this month, but I am still deciding on a paint color. Any ideas?
