My Experience Trying Anti-Aging Skincare at 22| YOUTH by Shaklee

At 22 years old anti-aging is not the first benefit on my mind when shopping for skincare products, so I was pretty shocked when Shaklee reached out to me about their anti aging line called "Youth". Before I tested the line I had the opportunity to ask their Global Ambassador, Sloan Barnett a few questions about why natural anti-aging products are so important to someone close to my age.
Youth๐Ÿ’ซ by Shaklee
At what age should women begin looking into and using anti-aging products?
It is not too soon to begin using an anti-aging regimen in your 20's! The best thing you can do at this age is to prevent wrinkles and key signs of aging from appearing. The best way to do this is to protect your skin from the sun everyday with an Spf-30 broad spectrum sunscreen system, like our YOUTH Age Defense Mineral Moisturizer SPF 30. In addition, preventing free radicals from damaging your skin and causing premature aging is key! All of our YOUTH products contain our patented Vital Repair+ Complex and patent-pending Muscadine Grape polyphenols to prevent this damage from occurring! Plus, our Radiance C+E Capsules contain 20% pure vitamin C, arguably the best antioxidant in the industry.

August Favorites

I can't believe how fast this summer went, I'm finally settled in my new apartment (as of a week ago), and I've been officially out of school and working for almost 4 months now! So many milestones happened for me this summer, but unfortunately none of them were really blogging related. I'm hoping to get back to my regular schedule, now that I'm not living out of boxes.

I used to do monthly favorites like clockwork, so I'm happy to get back into the groove of things. My last one was in December! I can't believe it!
August Favorites
I received Clean on Me as a gift this summer for my 22nd birthday. The giver described it as her absolute favorite shower product, mentioning its delicious smell. I've been using this product for a few weeks now and I'm really enjoying it, it's got a great scent doesn't dry my skin, and leaves me feeling squeaky clean. This is the first Soap & Glory product I've tried, and it definitely won't be my last.  I reach for this daily.

Surya Brasil CF Nail Polish

For about as long as I have been aware of buying strictly cruelty free products I have been searching high and low for a good cruelty free nail polish. I'm picky, before learning about how awful animal testing I stuck to one "designer" brand of nail polish, and would rarely stray.
Surya Brasil reached out to me a few weeks ago and asked if I would like to give their nail polishes a try. When I first opened the box I was so impressed with the packaging, each bottle features an exotic animal, I received chameleon, coral snake, wolf, and narwhale. These polishes are 7-free, meaning they do not contain camphor, formaldehyde. DBP, parabens, toluene, or animal products.

Cruelty Free Work Essentials

I was sent two products recently that have become my little workplace saving graces. I always keep hand sanitizer and hand lotion at my desk. This is kind of another step in self care for me. Keeping things like this in addition to water and snack helps prevent me from getting burnt out. A simple ritual of cleaning and moisturizing my hands after what feels like endless typing, is a tiny break from the craziness that can sometimes ensue at my desk.
Everyone, also known as EO, sent me this lovely hand sanitizer spray. The scent (Coconut Lemon) has to be my favorite among all the sanitizers I have tried over the years. I love anything with coconut and this is such a clean scent and it takes me out of the office for just a moment. There are no synthetic fragrances, it's cruelty free, and packaged in a recycled plastic bottle.
Also great to keep in your car!

What's In My Gym Bag Featuring Crimes of Beauty and EO

I feel like my posts have been very fitness heavy recently, but I am obsessed and I'm not apologizing lol. Now generally I don't put a ton of products in my gym bag, but these things come in handy on Thursday nights. Almost every Thursday my friend and I go to hot yoga, shower at the gym, and then head out in town for some dinner. It's tradition to get appetizers at our favorite Mexican restaurant.
Recently I received a few samples that have been incredibly handy for these days at the gym. Keep reading if you want to find out about my cruelty free gym bag essentials.
I finally bought myself a yoga mat bag, I own one from Citrus Fitness. I bought this bag particularly because it features both an inner and outer pocket. There is a large mesh one inside which I fit my cosmetic bag in, and one on the outside that I usually slip my phone inside while I am in class. There is enough room in the bag for me to stuff my mat, mat-sized towel, hand towel, coconut water, and a change of clothes-- If I'm strategic with my placement.
The cosmetic bag I have been toting to the gym is this adorable one from Crimes of Beauty. Crimes of Beauty has a large selection of bags to choose from and they are all very affordable. I also think this one is fab "I Like My Rose Chilled and My Highlight Lit". Thanks Crimes of Beauty, I very much believe that throwing on a coat of mascara makes all the difference most days!

A Day in the Life; Pre- Hot Yoga Routine

If you couldn't already tell by my last few posts, and a whole bunch of tweets my newest obsession in hot yoga. One of my goals for post-college life was to have a regular workout routine again, after I moved out and closer to my new job my friend and I began practicing hot yoga after finding a deal on Groupon
It's been about a month and a half since I started and I am seeing major results. I mainly wanted to tone up, and am seeing a slight change in my arms, and a major difference in my core muscles. I won't have abs in time for the shore, but I feel way more confident now than I did before beginning hot yoga.
Another goal I had post-graduation was to take care of my body more, cut out fast food and eat healthier. Now I've never been a huge fan of fast food, so cutting that out wasn't too hard. I'll eat it occasionally but only when I'm pressed for both time and cash. There are much better options out there! It's been even easier to follow this healthy eating plan since i began practicing yoga, because I can feel a difference when I am not giving my body the things it needs. Now I am sure to always have some fruit, multiple vegetables a day and plenty of water.
If you're curious here's what my typical diet consists of when I am going to yoga or the gym:

Breakfast

For breakfast I either have overnight oats, or a waffle. Lately I have been eating strawberry, blueberry waffles or overnight oats with some sort of fruit mixed in.

Lunch

I almost always have a salad with added protein. I'm lucky enough to have a pretty great range of options in my office building so I usually hit the salad bar and add plenty of chicken, chickpeas, and extra veggies. My friend and I have been trying to partake in "Meatless Mondays" so on mondays I sometimes opt for a veggie burger, or have a salad with all my usual fixings but substitute the chicken for a hard boiled egg or two.

"Mindful Unmasking" with Smoothie Beauty

On July 15th my friend and I went to our first Mindful Unmasking session at Canal Street Market in Soho, New York. When I began working full time I also took up hot yoga and have been super interested in the practice. Since I've been looking at yoga and activewear sites so often I came across a mindful unmasking ad on Facebook and signed myself and my friend up. (thanks lead ads๐Ÿ˜)
I'm so glad we were apart of this lovely event, I had such a nice time and it was a great way to start out my Saturday. First we were guided through the practice by Sunina, she was wonderful and I felt such great energy through the entire session.

Art Naturals| A Cruelty Free Review & Brand Feature

If you haven't seen my last post yet be sure to check it out, I've been absolutely obsessed with using my Art Naturals Diffuser, and I finally wanted to share my thoughts on the other products they so kindly sent me.

I was super excited to give all of these products a try, but I think I was most excited for the argan oil hair mask. I'm in the process of moving as I feel like I keep saying (it's been a long month) and I'm sharing my time between upstate NY and Long Island. The water upstate is much more mineral rich and "harder" than what I'm used to back home on LI. My hair was in desperate need of a little TLC. I've been using this 1-2 times a week since I received it and I think it's done wonders for my hair. Especially since I tend to over wash it, thanks to my new obsession with hot yoga. This product is super easy to use. I just wash my hair in the shower, cleanse etc, and then wring out the excess water and work this product through my hair, leaving it on for 5 minutes. I'll usually turn off the water and do something else for 5 minutes, like brush my teeth, before I come back to rinse it out. My hair feels the best is has in months and I see a bit less fallout as well.

Post Graduation; Coping with Workplace Stress

Entry level positions are the norm for recent college graduates, but I decided to move closer to my boyfriend of three years, and pursue a career that isn't quite what most 21-year olds would go for. If you're new, or haven't seen my last few (kind of sporadic) posts (again... 9-5 lol) I am now an account manager at a marketing agency.

I really value this job and don't think its appropriate to be specific about my stress, everyone has overwhelming days at work after all, but in the interest of this post I do want to talk a little about my experience.

I am the type of person who got pretty good grades in school, I was on and off the Dean's List, and am a member of the communications honor society, Lambda Pi Eta. I am proud of my achievements, and proud of my work. While this is all well and good in the academic world, once I jumped into a 9-5 some things changed. For one, I work at a very small company and am currently the only Account Manager... so when things are in full-swing for my clients. They are for me too. I'm right in the middle of a huge project at the moment, and I am acting as their account manager, web developer, support, graphic designer, social media manager... pretty much every title within communications and marketing I can think of. Most days I really do love what I do. But sometimes it can be really hard to prioritize and I become extremely stressed.

I think sharing my methods to destress may help others or maybe you can share your tips in the comments below and we can start a little forum to help each other.

Renpure's Viva Curl Coconut Milk Line| A Cruelty Free Review

I feel like I haven't gotten on the computer and blogged in ages, in reality I missed a week but so much has happened recently that its just a whirlwind. If you haven't read my last few posts, or maybe you're new here I recently moved and got my first "big girl" job. It's been fun but super busy, I work for a very small marketing company and it seems that we're in a busy season at the moment with some of our clients having major events coming up soon. I'm also in the process of looking for my first apartment,  it's been hectic but exciting. I'm actually writing this as I prepare dinner for me and Martin. :)
So my apologies for not blogging much in the past month since graduation. I have so much to catch up on, so much mail to review, and so many new favorites to share.

A few weeks ago I was sent Renpure's Viva Curl Coconut Milk Shampoo and Conditioner... now, I know I don't post a ton of pictures of myself on my blog (and I'm trying to get better at that too, lol) but I have stick straight hair so I was kind of skeptical of what this shampoo and conditioner could do for me. I do love coconut though so I was hoping this would work for my hair.

I have been using the set for about two weeks now, and I love the scent, it smells like tropical fruits and of course coconut. Obviously I cant really speak to its effectiveness on curly hair, but I do feel like it has given my hair a bit of texture when styling.

Dew Puff| A Cruelty Free Review

For the past few weeks I have been testing out Dew Puff, a Konjac facial cleansing sponge. These sponges are made from pure plant fibers and can be used daily for gentle exfoliation. You can use it with just water or add cleanser.

On days that I don't use makeup I have been using this on its own and have found it quite refreshing, but just for piece of mind that I am removing absolutely everything from my skin especially on days I wear makeup I prefer to use this with cleanser. I have been using my favorite from CBD for Life. (PS- I have been using that cleanser at least twice a day since my first post... 3 MONTHS AGO!... and Im just now getting to the end of the tube)

My Self Tanning Routine (Featuring Skinny Tan)

After a few weeks of tanning posts its probably no secret to you that I enjoy my faux glow. I wanted to share with you all exactly how I achieve it as well as review a product that is new to my tanning arsenal.

Skinny Tan is a natural, cruelty free tanning product that is formulated to help reduce the appearance of cellulite. While I don't have a ton of cellulite to speak of, I have noticed that a tan does help minimize what is there and Skinny Tan contains guarana to help even further. Skinny Tan kindly sent me their Body Mousse, 7-Day Tanner, and two Mini Face Application Mitts to test out.

I have never had mini face mitts and I felt that these helped me better apply the tanner to my face, usually I just did my face last with a teeny bit of the product on my regular large mitt, but I think I will be sticking to these for my face now!

Testing Out Model's Own Products| A Cruelty Free Review

Finding a nice cruelty free highlighter has been quite the challenge, I have been aiming to use solely cruelty free products for about a year now but have yet to find a highlighter I love. Enter Model's Own, I wasn't previously aware MO was cruelty free until I received one of their press kits. I'm so happy that they are in fact cf, and I cant wait to try out more of their products.
I couldn't resist immediately tearing into this gorgeous package.
Model's Own is based in the UK and was previously pretty hard to come by in the states. Model's Own is now available at Ulta and on the Ulta website, which is awesome because I frequent Ulta for a lot of my beauty products.
Love this packaging!!

Life Update and Thoughts on the Pirates of the Caribbean Palette

I feel like its been ages since I've sat down and written a proper post, just one on  one sharing my thoughts and ideas with you guys. I graduated from college last weekend, and secured my first full time job just two weeks previous. Today was my first day of work and I have a bit of time to kill until my best friend gets home.
I had tweeted about some possible changes to my blogging and YouTube schedule, and I think it's time I addressed that. While things are slowing down in a sense since I am not working and attending school simultaneously, there are still a lot of stressful, and time consuming things to come in the near future. While I love blogging and making videos, I want to make sure I am putting my energy into the things that are truly important at this moment. In the next few weeks I will be moving into my own apartment, I'm hoping to set up some viewings soon after work this week. I am also adjusting to a new schedule. Until I find an apartment I am staying with my best friend, since he's way closer to my  new job. I will be going home on the weekends however to see my family. At this time I don't know how it will affect my blog. I know I won't be vlogging again for at least a few weeks though, since I am still not comfortable doing so in front of others.
I am excited to see what changes will come in the next few weeks though, and I cant wait to share these things here and on my channel.
Another thing I have been waiting to tell you guys about is the Pirates of the Caribbean PRO Eye Shadow Palette from Lorac. I was really excited to give this a try since it's my first purchase from Lorac. I have heard great things about their shadows, which are of course cruelty free. The palette has eighteen gorgeous colors, a huge mirror, and it also came with a mini eyeliner.

How to Get that DWTS Glow| A Cruelty Free Review

Growing up watching Dancing with the Stars I always wondered how the contestants got such a flawless, even, not-orange glow. I've been self tanning on and off for a few years now and have tried my share of products, I finally got a routine down where there are minimal streaks, and I know exactly how to tan my acne-prone face.

A few weeks ago I received a product from Norvell called Endurance. Endurance is a gradual tanner and CC cream all in one. I have been using Endurance for about two weeks straight now, and I'm loving it. This is probably the most natural coloring I've ever seen from a product. Endurance is formulated with VIO-7 which counters orange undertones giving you a more natural look.

Glamour Dolls x Lisa Frank Review| Featuring Tea with B

Last month Glamour Dolls shipped out their coveted collection collaborating with Lisa Frank. Becca and I preordered the adorable unicorn angled blush brush and we actually had completely different thoughts on it. The aesthetics of this brush are everything, the brush is everything I could ever want as a 90s baby and reminds me of a Lisa Frank lunch box, and various school supplies I had growing up.

CBD for Life's Full Beauty Range| A Cruelty Free Review

If you have been reading my posts the last few months, first of all-- Hello! I'm so happy you're here and reading another one of my reviews. I have been reviewing the CBD for Life line quite a bit recently, I was lucky enough to receive a few more items from them last month and I wanted to share my thoughts on these new (to me) products. If you're interested in my past reviews you can find them at the following links. (1, 2, 3
This packaging is gorgeous, peonies are a favorite of mine!

Mother's Day Gift Ideas

Every year Mother's Day seems to get a bit harder for me, I'm not really sure why... I guess my mom is just someone that I want to get the perfect gift for. There aren't too many things that she 'needs' per say but I always try to get something that is both practical and meaningful.

I reached out to a brand called Vadavas and asked if I could feature their bracelets in a Mother's Day guide, and one of the owners, Daniela, kindly arranged for a bracelet set to be sent to me for both me and my mother. What drew me to Vadavas is their dedication to social responsibility, their slogan is 'wear purpose' and I wanted to find out what Vadavas is all about.

Coping with Senior Year Stress| CF Products and Tips to Help You Through

If you've read any of my posts recently I am usually apologizing for posting a few hours late, for being inactive on social media, or straight up telling you guys that it's been a busy few months. If you didn't know, I am a senior in college and most (if not all) seniors need to take some sort of capstone class for the entirety of senior year. For nurses that means clinical, for engineers I believe you just call it capstone, education majors student teach, and comm majors (like me) have senior seminar.

Throughout the course of senior seminar you are attempting to prove a thesis, by researching past data, conducting your own research, and finally presenting it to a board. I am finally done! I presented my thesis to a panel of communications professors, classmates, and juniors who anticipate taking the course next year.
This semester hit me extra hard, I attempted to fit my class schedule into just two days a week, with a long break midday which I use for writing papers, studying, having lunch, and sending emails. I'm on campus those days from 9am-6:30. On top of that I work four days a week, and have been attending interviews for jobs post graduation. This past month I've been letting the stress just pile on, luckily it hasn't impacted my work, or become noticeable by others, but it has been affecting my self-care routine and in turn making me feel pretty icky. Often when you're faced with such a large project, doing anything outside of that feels like a major task. So I've basically been running on dry shampoo and caffeine. I want to share with you guys a few products I have been using over the past few months that have made it easier to cope with all the stress.

Reverie Farms| A Cruelty Free Review

Good Morninggggg guysss! I have a busy day ahead of me but I am officially done with classes. I have a final or two, and some graduation related things to attend on campus but I am done! I feel so relieved to be done with senior seminar, my presentation went well and my thesis paper is finished and has been handed in.

While I was in the midst of finishing all my papers I got a lovely package from Reverie Farms & Soaps, a Texas based, family owned farm that makes all natural and organic products. I was lucky enough to receive one of their foaming hand soaps in the scent 'Lemongrass', as well as a Patchouli Orange Soap Bar
Reverie Farms Soaps

I currently have the Lemongrass hand soap in my bathroom and have been loving the scent. I can see this being a lovely soap to keep in a kitchen as well since it is super fresh! Many foaming soaps leave my hands feeling a little dry, but I haven't found that with Reverie's version. According to their site the soap is safe for sensitive skin, vegan friendly, biodegradable, and can even be used in the shower! I think my favorite points about this soap is that it is paraben free and chock full of natural oils.

Vacation Essentials

Hello everyone! If you're subscribed to my YouTube channel you may know that I have been in Puerto Rico for the past week. I was visiting family and spent a few mornings at the beach. I even vlogged the experience. If you're interested make sure you click through the link I've left of the video below and give it a thumbs up! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’•
Today I wanted to share a few reviews of essential vacation items, and also update you on some products I used in the past and how they worked in a different climate.
Because I'd be about as good a model as this fence.๐Ÿ„๐Ÿ˜‚
On my first beach day I pulled out a swim suit from AMI Clubwear. (I was kindly sent this in exchange for an honest review.) I received this plaid two piece, which is a dupe for a designer pattern. The sizes definitely run small in this swimsuit, especially with the top. In most swimsuits (for reference I usually purchase mine from Victoria's Secret or Target) I am a medium so I checked the size guide and assumed I would be that size in this swimsuit. I think I would actually be a large, so going one size up is advised. The top unfortunately didn't fit at all, so I swapped out the top in favor of a dark gray halter style I already owned(similar). The two actually paired really nicely together.
Although I didnt have any issues with it I did notice that the bottoms are unlined, but I think most suits of this price range would be constructed similarly. The stitching seems to be very strong however. Overall I really liked these swim bottoms and would recommend this style for the bottoms alone. I love the pattern and think my beach look was on point that day.

SIBU Sea Berry Therapy- A Cruelty Free Skincare Review

You guys know that I am always incredibly excited by new skincare products to try out and when SIBU reached out to me about their Himalayan sea buckthorn (sea berry) products I had to give them a whirl.

According to SIBU's website; ๐ŸŒŠ๐Ÿ“
Sea Berry (sea buckthorn) is a natural product with 1300 years of traditional uses with the modern scientific research to back it up. Our superior processing techniques and our premium and exclusive source of sea berry allow us to create a revolutionary group of beauty products
I received the Omega-7 Support (60 Count), and the Sea Berry Oil (10ml)

I am a huge believer in hair, skin and nail vitamins so I was eager to try these Omega-7 soft gels. I tried to vary when I was beginning to try these vitamins, and the oil to see if I could pinpoint which if any made a difference in my skin, and I have to say I am pretty pleased with these vitamins. I (try to) take 2 of these a day, one in the morning and one before bed. I have found my nails, which frequently break at work, to be less brittle and my hair looks super healthy with less fallout. I'll have to lend some of the thanks to good old H2O because I know I have been trying to drink more lately, but I would like to think my skin has been reacting well to these soft gels too! Yes I am still breaking out (yay stress), but overall my complexion looks more even and breakouts seem to vanish a bit quicker with the use of these vitamins. I am a happy camper thanks to SIBU.

CBD For Life| Cruelty Free Review (PART 2)

Hi Everyone! Hope you are doing well! You might remember that I reviewed a few CBD for Life products last month, my awesome friend KC over at CBD for Life sent me some more products to try out. (Thanks KC!!)
CBD For Life
This time I focused on testing out products that I think my fellow college students will enjoy. Working part-time, while being a full-time student, and balancing all of life's other obstacles can sometimes be difficult... just check the sleep app on my phone, I'm sure none of the graphs look consistent. I'm currently in the final stages of my thesis paper, which is part of my majors 'capstone'. It's been stressful, but I am so excited to nearly be finished. This past month has been one of the hardest for me in terms of self care, I wasn't feeling my best and really had to make an effort to put myself first.
-- I'm thinking of writing a post about self-care for students-- comment below if you would be interested in reading that, it would include a few tips and products that made it easy to pamper myself.

Skinerals|Cruelty Free Review

Hey everyone! I am super excited to get back into the blog this week, hope you all liked Sophia's guest post last week, I thought she did an awesome job! This week I want to share my review of the Skinerals products I showed in my last haul.  Skinerals is a 100% organic, mineral based, cruelty free line designed to repair damaged or irritated skin. Skinerals kindly sent me a few of their products and I am beyond excited to share my review with you.

I have been testing out Skinerals Californium Sunless Bronzer for the last few weeks now. I usually use a self tanner when the weather begins to warm up. The application is simple I use two pumps on a mitt for each leg, my torso, my chest and neck, and two pumps for my back. I use one pump on each arm and use any leftover product to go over my ears and face. This the best applicator mitt I have tried so far, it is incredibly soft and gives good coverage. I also like that it is double sided.

If you’re shopping for a true make-up junkie, you can’t go wrong with a nice lipstick or a lip gloss. However, make sure to go for cruelty-free brands, such as the Au Naturale Cosmetics, and their amazing lip gloss which comes in an amazing shade range . This lip gloss is 100% vegan and nature-friendly. In addition, it doesn’t contain synthetic preservatives and toxins.

Another amazing choice would be Red Apple lipsticks. These are also natural and high-quality products, and what’s best, they also come in so many shades. Our personal favourites are Audrey, Barcelona and Rebel.

Review of my Youtube Haul Items

Earlier this week I posted a haul of some items I picked up from Lush, CVS, and Ulta. If you haven't seen it yet, make sure you give it a watch before reading my reviews.  I'm really starting to enjoy making videos, it's still a bit weird watching the footage back in iMovie, and I still feel a bit odd talking to a camera. I think I'm improving at it though, be sure to like and comment on that video I would love to hear your feedback.

Green Goo| Cruelty Free Haircare Review

Alright so I have a confession to make, my obsession with tea tree oil is growing! I love using tea tree oil as a spot treatment on blemishes, and occasionally adding it to moisturizers. But now I have also been adding a few drops to my favorite mask, and I'm loving the shampoo products that include tea tree.

I was happy to find a Green Goo product in my mailbox not too long ago and I figured I would review it for you guys today! Green Goo is owned by women, and family run, the products are cruelty free and formulated with all natural oils and herbs. Green Goo is also a certified B Corp. I am loving that I am receiving more products from companies that identify as woman owned and think it is awesome that they are all natural as well.

Green Goo sent me one of their tea tree and peppermint solid shampoo bars and it did not disappoint! This product lathers up really well, and helps to cleanse your scalp of any buildup or irritation. If you normally wash your hair daily I would recommend using this once or twice a week. If you prefer to use it daily make sure to use a conditioner afterwards. I got a little too into using the product and have been using it without conditioner this entire week (every other day), and the first few days my hair felt amazingly clean but by today it has felt a bit dry. So I would just recommend using a natural conditioner if you plan on using it frequently.

CBD For Life| A Cruelty Free Skincare Review

Hey there! Hope you're doing well this morning (or whenever you happen to be reading this)! I slacked off on my blogging duties again this week thanks to midterms, but I do have a new YouTube video up as well if you would like to check that out.

As you guys know I have struggled with acne since the dawn of time... ok maybe since I was about 13, but it feels like forever. I finally had a skincare routine that worked for me, and then all the sudden I was breaking out more than ever. I still am dairy free (or very close, accidents happen), but I think the stress of interviews and midterms has taken their toll and my skin has had it! Or at least I've had it with my skin looking this way.

A few weeks ago I was sent something slightly controversial, but I definitely believe in the power of all natural products so I figured I would give it a go and I am so happy I did. CBD for Life is a skincare range that contains cannabidiol, which helps stop the growth of bacteria, and is anti-inflammatory; which is awesome news for my face which has a bit of rosacea and acne. If you're hesitant about using a hemp based product or are not sure if it's right for you I would definitely give this page a read.

Frownies Advanced Formula Vitamin E Serum| Cruelty Free Review

Good morning everyone! I had such a busy week and wanted to make sure I posted a new review for you all today at the latest. I had two interviews for positions post graduation, and I got invitations for  second round interviews at both companies. I am incredibly excited, fingers crossed! This morning I am taking it slow as a result. It's finally warm enough to keep the windows open for a bit which is worrisome for February, but I'm not complaining.
I had read an article a few weeks ago about Vitamin E and how it is a staple in Khloe Kardashian's makeup routine, and while it's not often you see the Kardashians without makeup I would like to think that underneath that Khloe has glowing skin. After all, her makeup always looks so smooth. So for about a week I slathered pure Vitamin E oil on my skin... and being that it's a heavy oil I broke out more. ๐Ÿ’€I still just felt that I was doing something wrong though and maybe I should be mixing the oil with something else, using less, using more... something. Vitamin E oil can be great for scaring so what I really wanted was to fade the hyper pigmentation and small scars from past acne. But the pure Vitamin E oil wasn't cutting it. Instead I have been using it on my legs post shaving, and to moisturize my tattoo (interchangeably with coconut oil).
Recently I received what I assume is a new release from Frownie's in the mail, their Advanced Formula Vitamin E Serum. I was a bit skeptical since I had tried Vitamin E Oil and failed to see any positive changes, but I really liked the past Frownie's products I had tried and the word 'serum' gave me hope that this product wouldn't be so heavy.

Savvy Travelers| Cruelty Free Review

For the entire year that I have been striving to be as cruelty free as possible, the one product I couldn't seem to find was a cruelty free nail polish remover. If you have been following my blog for awhile Savvy Travelers should be a familiar name. I posted about their subscription service a few months ago. I was super excited when Savvy Travelers reached out to me again about their Jet Set Kit,  Lift Offz (nail polish remover wipes), and Take Offz (3-in-1 facial cleansing wipe).
Take Offz

As someone who is working in the retail environment; the recycled air has made my skin somewhat dry and irritated during my shift. I normally keep a packet of facial wipes in my workspace to refresh my skin after a particularly labor intensive shift, or just as a pick me up especially if I went makeup free that day.

My Wanderlust List

With graduation approaching fast I have found myself daydreaming about what things will be like post May. I plan on renting an apartment a bit closer to the city, and closer to where I think I will be working (which will hopefully be set well before then). I'm constantly on Pinterest, the Urban Outfitters, CB2, Target, and Ikea sites looking for decor inspiration for small spaces.

Another thing I have been giving a lot of thought lately is traveling. I had been fortunate enough to travel to two foreign countries while I have been in college. I spent a semester abroad in London, England, and also traveled with my boyfriend and his family to Trim, Ireland for a wedding. These are both places I would love to return to but I also have a few more destinations on my list for the next few years.

Starting Youtube!

Hi Guys! Just wanted to post a quick update today that my Youtube channel is up and running. If you aren't already, be sure to follow me on Twitter since it is where I post updates most often. This weeks video was a quick evening skincare routine. Hope you enjoy it!

Valentine's Day Gift Guide๐Ÿ’˜

I always find it a bit of a struggle to plan out Valentine's Day gifts and things to do each year. This year I already have it all planned out and I am writing this about two weeks before Valentine's Day so I am incredibly proud of myself.

For Her:

Glow For a Cause; Inspire Perfume
Inspire Solid Perfume Mini
Last week I received Glow for a Cause's Inspire scented perfume to try out for myself and I am loving it. The scent is very clean and reminds me of freshly washed sheets with a hint of citrus. There is a vegan-friendly version (without beeswax) which is what I received, and what I assume is the original formulation. Starting at just sixteen dollars this perfume is the perfect gift for your date, galentine or even yourself.

Melati Bath & Body| Cruelty Free Review

I'm so excited to share this review with you all today! I have been using these products for the last two weeks and I think they are absolutely fabulous.

Melati is a brand that is based in DUMBO Brooklyn, New York and is owned by Leah who was so kind and sent me this adorable gift set. Leah started Melati as an alternative to common household soaps and skincare products that are made with animal byproducts. Leah's products are vegan (free from animal products) as well as being cruelty free.

One of the first thing's I noticed about these products is how amazing they smell! Many popular brands of skincare have an artificial scent to them. These Melati products are made with essential oils and smell incredibly fresh.

Weekly Update

Hey everyone, this is an exciting week. My giveaway winner was announced, my final semester of college has begun, and I got a vlog camera!

This semester I will be taking a course that focuses on vlogging and making Youtube videos. I set up my camera today and I'm so excited (and nervous) about beginning. I'm hoping that the quality of my blog photos will also increase. I took a photography class in high school and have always loved it, but I haven't really put much thought into it since then and didn't have the right equipment. I also began making graphics for my channel, I'm not clear on if I'm going to keep the color scheme I have but I love what I've designed so far.

I also have a ton of new review posts in the works but I want to be sure I use the items for a good span of time before posting the review, so unfortunately I don't have one ready for today. I also just wanted to check in quickly between classes, so sorry for the hastiness of this post.

Brooklyn Bound With Becca| Tea with B

A Colorful Mural by @WoodZArt
I've only been to Brooklyn once, and that was for my trip to HP. I have been growing more and more intrigued by Brooklyn since beginning to send my resume to various companies in the New York City area for after graduation, and my rewatching of Gossip Girl (sorry not sorry).
Becca, who I have been in contact with through the blogosphere since our collaborative posts (xx) last year, and I decided to meet up and embark on a 'Made in Brooklyn Tour' given by Dom Gervasi. I don't want to give away every stop on the tour, but Becca and I had such an awesome time checking out all the shops and hearing about different landmarks in the area. I would recommend everyone take a tour from Dom, even if you're native to the area.

December Favorites

Happy New Year! I hope you had a wonderful time celebrating with friends and family or at least maybe a relaxing day off. During winter intercession I have been trying to get through the stack of books, magazines, and PR kits I have acquired but didn't have time to read during the semester. A few things stuck out to me and I wanted to share them with you along with some recent purchases!

December Favorites
  • Teen Vogue's December 2016 Issue; Now I realize I'm probably a bit old to be flipping through the pages of Teen Vogue but thanks to Verizon Smart Rewards (which I suggest looking into if you're a Verizon customer) I seem to have an unending subscription. Teen Vogue has disappointed me over the past few years, they began selling more adspace and focusing their stories soley on movie shoots and catwalks. ---That's fine, they are a fashion magazine after all, but I felt that they lost substance along the way. I had been letting any Teen Vogue Issues that arrived at my door sit in a pile. This weekend I took the train to the city and grabbed the December issue on my way out the door just for something to flip through. Although the magazine has gotten thinner since my first time reading at 12 years old, I was so impressed with the content in this issue. Being that the articles were written during the election there were articles about privilege, feminism, and there was even one about literature. Teen Vogue is once again something I'm proud to be reading.
